Three words that best describe you as a candidate:

Competent, Strong, Authentic

Experience:

Wife, Mother, Health and Safety Professional, Certified First Responder, OSHA Outreach Instructor, Community Advocate and Activist.

Why are you running?

I am running to bring this seat back to the working people of this district. I was born into a working family, I grew up on a farm and I am one of you. I want to bring common sense and collaboration to the Minnesota Senate.

What sets you apart from the other candidates?

I am focused on the issues of the district. I know what it is like to have to travel 4 hours a day to have a job that will pay a livable wage to support my family.

What are the top two or three issues facing Minnesota?

Economic issues are on the forefront of everyone’s minds in this district. From the mom and pop businesses to the school teachers. Prices keep going up faster than wages and everyone is struggling. Meanwhile local governments, hit with the same increased cost of goods are forced to levy higher taxes to support both mandated and necessary services to our community resulting in the seniors being taxed out of their homes. Everything comes back to working people struggling to provide for their families and live the American dream of home ownership and a 40 hour work week.

What are your plans to address those issues?

I’m going to fight for our district and the people who live here. I will make sure St. Paul gives us the resources we need to thrive. I will make sure that the voices of workers and small businesses are heard and we will invest in those who invest in our communities.

How would you address Minnesota’s current budget deficit?

I will vote against raising taxes on working people or local businesses. Before cutting vital state services or funding our local governments and schools rely upon, tax policy needs to make sure billionaires playing games to get out of paying their fair share are held accountable. End of Story.

Given the nearly even split of Democrats and Republicans in the state legislature, how would you work with the other party to get things done?

People over Party when it comes to the economic livelihood of our communities. Common sense says we ought to focus on what we have in common, not what divides us. I am a moderate and I will commit to working across the aisle on economic issues that benefit our area.
