MN Senate District 6
Special Election: April 29
Why is there a special election?
Former Senator Justin Eichorn resigned after being arrested in March. He represented MN Senate District 6, which includes areas within Cass, Crow Wing and Itasca Counties. State law requires a quick turnaround when a seat opens during a legislative session.
The special election is now scheduled for Tuesday, April 29 after eight Republicans ran in an open primary and the DFL party endorsed one candidate. Congratulations to Republican Keri Heintzeman and Democrat Denise Slipy for earning their way onto the final ballot.
